I only read the chapter "The means of correct training" . This is the second time I read it. Really great!

我们以为是“人道”以及“现代”的这些事物与事实真的就停留在它们的字面意义上吗？再往深处追溯到底能够发现什么？是真理还是虚无？还是善恶皆模糊的一个境域？福柯在第一章提到的“technology of power”就是他这本书宗旨，也是对“人道主义”其本质的精辟概括。尤其打鸡血的是福柯在the condemned一章收尾所言撰写历史的原因：Writing a history of the past in terms of the present? No, he is writing the history of the present.
