Max Morden has reached a crossroads in his life, and is trying hard to deal with several disturbing things. 评分2012.4. Very hard to read, too self-consciousness...so sad and lonely...At least it does not suit me for my current life stage when I am exposed to such an abundance of sunshine and uncertain opportunities. For now I still prefer the bright self-search style of Paulo Coelho.

评分2018.101 Banville實在是會寫，情景人事的描寫敘述細緻入微又有一種點到為止的恰當，幾十頁的形容詞還不重樣我真的佩服（——大型英文詞匯教授現場…）。溫帶海洋性氣候的風情，永恒的雨水漂浮在愛爾蘭陰鬱的晴天，情緒彌漫在海風裏。動人。【必須得要重讀/或者還是乖乖讀瞭譯文版再重讀。（好瞭，我知道自己英語很垃圾瞭。）】
