【作者简介】

[美] 尤金•赖斯（Eugene F. Rice）

美国杰出历史学家，主要研究早期现代欧洲的宗教史。他毕业于哈佛大学，后来担任哥伦比亚大学历史系主任，并被授予哥伦比亚大学“伟大教师奖”。尤金•赖斯曾经荣获古根海姆奖，他曾是美国哲学协会和美国艺术与科学学院成员。

[美] 安东尼•格拉夫顿（Anthony Grafton）

美国知名历史学者，师从古典历史学权威莫米利亚诺，主要研究文艺复兴时期的欧洲文化史、书籍与阅读的历史。格拉夫顿曾担任美国历史学会（AHA）会长、普林斯顿大学人文学术委员会主任，还曾被选为英国学术院通讯院士，并且被提名“巴尔扎恩奖”。他的代表作有《脚注趣史》《文字书写的世界》等，现在为普林斯顿大学亨利•普特南学院特聘教授。
