One of the most exciting and fastest
growing phenomena in the modern re-
ligious scene today is the electric
church--the role played by radio and
television in bringing worship and
evangelism into the home.
Billy Graham points out that his
worldwide ministry would never have
reached its present proportions without
the electronic media. "The crowds are
larger, the interest is deeper, and the
resp(mse is greater than it has ever
been. I attribute this not only to the
power of the Holy Spirit but to the tact
that the broadcasting media have been
open to us.
"I believe one of the greatest fiactors
in the religious resurgence in this coun-
try," he continues, "has been the im-
pact of religious radio and television."
That view is shared by such other well
known broadcasters as Theodore Epp,
Pat Robertson, Robert Schuller, Jim
Bakker, Paul Evans, Oral Roberts, Rex
Humbard, and Jerry Falwell.
The Electric Church tells the stories
of these anaazing radio pioneers and
modern television hosts, and how with
miracle after miracle the broadcast
media have been used by God in reach-
ing people.
