The golfer, perhaps more than any other sportsman, continually
searches for The Secret. He looks for that one adjustment in grip,
stance or swing that will eliminate, immediately and forever, all
sliced drives, topped fairway woods and "fat" approach shots, and
that will of course--add 15-20 yards to his tee shots.
Eventually,.anost serious golfers discover The Secret--at least a
half-dozen times each summer. They rush to the course, or the
driving range. Every shot flies straight and true and far. Watch out,
Arnie! Move over, Jack! Here I come, Gary!
Then, after an hour or a day or a week, The Secret fails. The
golfer dejecIedly realizes that once again he s duped himself. He
knows he must renew the struggle. He must find another panacea.
This book is not about another secret. Secrets usually don t last.
Too often they lure, deceive, and then burst like bubbles. Nor is this
a book of "corrective" teachings. It is not presented, for example, as
