DAVID LEHMAN was born in New York City in 1948. His binclude two poetry collections, An Alternative to Speech (1986Operation Memory (1990), both from Princeton University [His study of detective novels, The Perfect Murder (The Free [1989), was nominated for an Edgar Award from the Mysteryers of America. He is the editor of Ecstatic Occasions, Expedient F,65 Leading Contemporary Poets Select and Comment on Their f(Collier Books, 1988). A Guggenheim Fellow in poetry for 190, he lives with his wife and son in Ithaca, New York.
