The authors have not dealt with methodology but rather with theunderstanding of laboratory procedures and all their ramifications.The student should not memorize such details of procedures asamounts of reagents used but rather should concentrate on theirsequence in the procedure and the reason for their use. To help thestudent review, we have included outlines that may be used as studyguides. Also included is a listing of procedures that the studentshould have studied throughout the year of clinical work. Thislisting represents the type of procedures one would find availableto the physicians on the staff of a modern, average-sized, urbanhospital, short of the status of a research center.
