Auden's "The Un-known Citizen" is a foil to Alvin Toffler's "ADiversity of Life Styles." Opposing John Haines'poem "The Legend of Paper Plates" with theKwakiutl "Prayer to the Young Cedar" suc-cinctly illustrates a major difference between twocultures.
