every one of the Yellow Pages." It is, in fact, difficult
to believe there is only one Steve Allen. Not only
is he the only comedian from the Golden Age of
Comedy of the 1950 s still appearing regularly on
television, in his award-winning series "Meeting of
Minds," but he has:
~ Created the "Tonight" Show and starred in
the hilarious "Steve Allen Show" for NBC.
~ Written 20 books, including two novels as well
as poetry and humorous and political works.
~ Starred on Broadway in The Pink Elephant.
~ Starred in motion pictures, most notably as
Benny Goodman in Universal s film about the great
jazz musician.
~ Performed his own one-man concert at
Carnegie Hall.
