3.5.Sadly, I didn't feel the magic of this modern classic despite how much I wanted it to be a new favorite read. The writing is great--particularly the way Llewellyn captures the characters, the mining community, and the portrait of Welsh village life. His voice is tender and the coziness, struggles, and hardships were depicted in a subtle way.
