Pippin此书以“自由”为核心阐释了黑格尔的实践哲学，虽说也是继承了泰勒等前辈的解释，但就他让充满晦涩的术语和逻辑的黑格尔哲学变得让人更易懂一些而言，还是挺有贡献的。他不仅思维敏捷，勤奋，而且据说也很nice，很奖掖后进。这本书很多的长句子。有时我觉得写得啰嗦了些。

作为黑格尔小白感觉很受帮助，清晰明白。（看到讲institution和moral commitment那里的时候发现《神圣的帷幕》的框架完全就是这个）黑格尔作为进阶康德，为自身立法在实然上的有效性在于，理智的各种倾向不是某种认知范式的必然性，而是self-determination之中包含现实性的、实践的必然倾向。
