How pleased and honored I was to be asked to write the fore-
word to Norma Zimmer s book. To my way of thinking, Norma
comes as close to perfection as anyone I ve ever known, both as a
performer and a human being.
Throughout the many years she has been with us on television
and recordings, she has consistently demonstrated the complete
preparation and total dedication which mark a real artist.
Norma, like myself, had a difficult, rather poor beginning in life.
And yet no one I know has learned to live as closely to the way God
intended us to, as she has.
I have great admiration not only for her serene religious faith
which animates her entire personality, but also for her devotion to
her family, and her sunny disposition which keeps all us folks in the
orchestra feeling bright and happy! Everyone in the band has the
same great respect for her that I do, and we all know that a large
percent of our loyal audience has been brought to us through her
beautiful, well-nigh perfect performances.
We all have tremendous gratitude in our hearts for this wonder-
ful lady. It could be the mold was lost when the Good Lord created
her.
