材料蛮丰富的, 虽然把什么都说是美国独立战争带来的有点牵强 (作者应该也知道这点吧, 所以讲Ireland革命的时候就不太提北美了). 好的地方是该书提及了很多革命和战乱对普通人的负面影响. 全书的主要观点是, 美国独立战争对英国的对手国家的内部混乱(比如法国/西班牙)有贡献, 又导致英国加强了统治管制, 无形中帮助了日后英帝国的建立.
