This book is about life s choices, some of
which are financial.
tt is designed both for self-study and for
use in a group process facilitated by a financial
planner. Self-directed, introspective questions
and exercises are included to complement the
issues and to promote an awareness of what
choices are open to the participant. An effort is
made to show how the reader s previous
choices have resulted in his/her present situa-
tion and what choices (financial and other-
wise) are needed to arrive at where s/he want~
to be in the future. This is financial planning.
Joint planning by two people in a relation-
ship is encouraged. The exercises, however,
should be completed separately to call attention
to the inevitable differences netween the two.
This could be a first step in helping couples
improve how they disct, ss and plan together.
