沒有人看這本《第五個孩子》時會有笑聲。如同它書封上寫著的，這是一本令人毛骨悚然的故事，所想必閱讀的時候，應該會是驚恐的，更別說是發出笑聲了。我不知道為什麼寫書介的人會用這「毛骨悚然」來形容它，是因為這第五個孩子「班」的怪異的行為，以及它根本不像人類的種種？...
