Thomas Hardy真的就是維多利亞時期的瓊瑤，愛情兜兜轉轉，各種誤會梗，但勝在語言動人。據說這部小說裏對英國小鎮的描寫給瞭D H Lawrence很多啓發。我倒是在小說裏看到世紀末的浪漫主義情懷。
