Coward的幽默是旁人学不来的，他完全登到了剧作的上头，好似不费力气地操纵着他的人物们。看看他的闹剧杰作《欢乐的精灵》，如此巧妙的结构里佳句不断，闹而不俗，又能在底部让人隐隐作痛。的确这不是多有灵魂的一出戏，但仔细看看，哪一句话不是正中靶心？这是第一等的嘲讽。
