Coward的幽默是旁人學不來的，他完全登到瞭劇作的上頭，好似不費力氣地操縱著他的人物們。看看他的鬧劇傑作《歡樂的精靈》，如此巧妙的結構裏佳句不斷，鬧而不俗，又能在底部讓人隱隱作痛。的確這不是多有靈魂的一齣戲，但仔細看看，哪一句話不是正中靶心？這是第一等的嘲諷。
