大卫·莱昂斯，哈佛大学哲学博士，师从著名学者罗尔斯，长期任教于康奈尔大学哲学系和法学院，1995年前往波士顿大学担任哲学和法学教授。主要研究领域是法理学与规范伦理学，在对密尔与边沁的研究上颇有独到之处，获得过很多学术荣誉，包括古根海姆奖和三次国家人文科学奖。主要著作包括：《功利主义的形式和限制》（1965），《伦理学与法治》（1984），《为了被统治者的利益：边沁的效用和法律哲学研究》（1973, 1991），《法律理论的道德方面：论法律、正义和政治责任》（1993），《权利、福利与密尔的道德理论》（1994）。
葛四友，北京大学哲学博士，现为华东师范大学哲学教授，研究领域为现当代英美政治哲学、规范伦理学，兴趣领域为元伦理学与法理学。目前正致力于从动机限制发展新的后果主义理论，提出包含公平与人道两种成分的分配正义新解，著有《正义与运气》，译有《运气均等主义》（编译）、《合理性的本质》（合译）《公共领域中的伦理学》（主译）和《论重要之事》（合译）等书。
