Eavie Hall is the tale of a woman who has to be strong, and who is slighted by birth and circumstances to step into a manas role of life. When the women of her time would have hidden their faces away beneath a bonnet, demurely sitting beside their husbands, Eavie stepped into the manas role of owning and operating the largest horse ranch of the region. Eavie, following in the footsteps of both father and mother, knew horses far better than she knew men. Left by the love of her life to raise a son conceived in a moment of passion stolen from her young heart, Eavie meets the challenge. Through loss of family, both from war and accident, Eavie emerges to take the reins of her family holdings, at a time when the horse was needed--lots of horses--in the ever-expanding Western movement.
