我感觉近年来读的pulitzer prize获奖作品，总是prose大于plot。作者用一种比较意识流的方式，刻画了一个deeply flawed yet deserving of empathy的女性形象。故事不好看，但是execution极其成功，字里行间那种美国白人小镇的窒息感，简直犹如作者反复描写的、无处不在的阳光和海岸。#9
