我感覺近年來讀的pulitzer prize獲奬作品，總是prose大於plot。作者用一種比較意識流的方式，刻畫瞭一個deeply flawed yet deserving of empathy的女性形象。故事不好看，但是execution極其成功，字裏行間那種美國白人小鎮的窒息感，簡直猶如作者反復描寫的、無處不在的陽光和海岸。#9
