埃德加·李•马斯特斯（Edgar Lee Masters，1868-1950），美国诗人。他出生于堪萨斯州的律师家庭，大学辍学后，去他父亲的事务所学习法律，成为芝加哥的著名律师。马斯特斯三十岁开始以不同笔名在报纸上发表诗歌，四十七岁出版现实主义作品《匙河集》，成为“美国文学史上的一个里程碑”。他是一位多产作家，除了诗歌，还写过小说、散文、剧本、传记等五十余部作品。1950年3月5日，马斯特斯在宾夕法尼亚州因病去世。

Just so-so. My own reason would be I don't like poems, and I couldn't really understand what they were trying to say. But I like the idea of all villagers telling the story of their life. It was impressive.
