鬍安•岡薩雷斯•德•門多薩（Juan González de Mendoza, 1545-1618），西班牙人，17歲至墨西哥，19歲加入奧古斯丁修會，潛心研究神學、語法和藝術，熱心傳教。他曾受命齣使中國，未遂。後應教皇之命，廣泛搜集關於中國的資料，曆時兩年，於1585年印行《中華大帝國史》。他曾被任命為西西裏島利巴利主教、恰巴斯省主教和波帕揚地區主教。
譯者簡介：孫傢堃，北京第二外國語學院教授，畢業於北京外國語大學西班牙文係，留學墨西哥，攻讀拉美文學、拉美曆史、語言學、翻譯學等課程。編著《印第安人保護者——拉斯•卡薩斯》《全國導遊西班牙語》《西班牙口語》《西班牙語動詞600》《西漢金融貿易詞典》等書，譯著《哥倫布日記》《西印度毀滅述略》《中國與西班牙關係史》《參加國際縱隊的中國人》等。
