不到三天破案，還是當年頭一次讀中譯本時效果更震撼，現在再也體會不到那種齣人意料的結局瞭。這個Oxford版本的Explanatory notes，是我有史以來見過的最詳細、最追根溯源的注釋。

第一部分結束得比較突然，再加上第二部分開始講的是美國西部拓荒和摩門教，讓我一度以為是兩個案件，很鬱悶～這個故事很悲傷，但這樣的結局其實是最好的～
