At one time wild flowers were thought to be of little practical importance, and they were picked of dug up at will, wiped out in land development schemes, or sprayed out of existence on agricultural land. As a result, some have vanished forever, and others are now endangered species. These days it is recognized that many old herbal remedies do have some value- and who knows what valuable natural assets and cures for disease will be discovered as we continue to examine the wild flowers of our place?
