Set on the gritty Brooklyn waterfront, A View from the Bridge follows the cataclysmic downfall of Eddie Carbone, who spends his days as a hardworking longshoreman and his nights at home with his wife, Beatrice, and niece, Catherine. 评分Similar to Eugene O'Neill's Anna Christie. Simple-plotted and flat-charactered as the play appears to be, Arthur Miller's work should never be underestimated, for he is a better craftsman at dealing with mysterious elements like karma, complex or even fate. Though never a lower-class hero, Miller sincerely knows their sufferings and sorrows.
