卡蒂·马顿（Kati Marton），美籍匈牙利人，幼年随她的父母移居美国，获匈牙利政府最高文职奖。著有六部作品，包括《纽约时报》畅销书《隐藏的权力：塑造我们历史的总统婚姻》《大逃亡》等。

毛俊杰，1952年生于上海，1978年入复旦分校中文系，1981年后定居纽约，译作有弗朗西斯·福山《政治秩序的起源》《政治秩序与政治衰败》、奥兰多·费吉斯《耳语者》、杰克·凯鲁亚克《吉拉德的幻象》等。

忙里偷闲花了一天时间读完了这本书，信誓旦旦说不再买理想国。不过这本不得不安利。这几年看过批判冷战，极权的书太多了，这书算是其中最好，最深刻的一本。以往的大部分都如此，一番痛批苏联阵营的极权如何黑暗，以美利坚为首的自由时间如何美好。真的有所谓完美世界吗？真的...
