Hipparchos said 'Aorepjo/zd/, as did Ptolemy, but also alluded to them as Mopuoetf, Semblances, and S/mro, Figures. Pliny and other Latins called them Astra, Sidera, and Signa, while later on Constellatio appeared, that in the 1515 Almagest is Stellatio; and the Arabians knew them as Al Suwar, Figures.
