Sunday Silences biography in The Thoroughbred Legends series from Eclipse Press gives him the tribute he earned. He was a gangly colt who literally escaped death twice while he was a youngster, including surviving a van accident. Unwanted in the auction ring, he returned home to Stone Farm to grow into one of Thoroughbred racings greatest legends. Winner of the Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Breeders Cup Classic, Sunday Silence was named Horse of the Year in 1989.
