The photographer behind Boston, All One Family Commonwealth Editions 2005) and Boston, An Extended Family (2007) has created his most memorable Boston portfolio. From Patriots Day 2007 and the Boston Marathon run that day to Patriots Day 2008 and its race, Bill Brett ran a marathon of his own-dedicating a full year to capturing the life of Boston from neighborhood to neighborhood and from face to face. This is an intimate, affectionate portrait of the city, from iconic events like the St. Patrick's Day parade, swearings-in, and groundbreakings, to backstage, backyard views of the city at work and play. This is Boston today as its citizens live it-from celebrities (Tom Brady shopping on Newbury Street with Giselle Bu.ndchen) to the down-and-out (a homeless man hauling a grocery cart overladen with empty bottles and cans).
