Wallace Stevens is one of the major poets of the twentieth century, and also among the most challenging. His poems can be dazzling in their verbal brilliance. 评分这本诗选伴读介绍和附录都不错，每首短诗和长诗的大部分诗节都有简明扼要的概括，很自然地联系其他诗作/诗人，作者有专著谈word play，这方面的注释很有帮助，可以省下不少查字典的时间，但注解并非事无巨细，也不意在提供解读方面的指导。
