差点被开头几首给骗了，并不是陶渊明式的乡村牧歌，更多的是沉重，丰饶，冷冽，暴晒，一如土地和自然本身。其实第二首就已经透露消息: No one really understands the savagery of this place, the way it kills people for no reason, just to keep in practice.写夜里的猫抓老鼠，Once the rat screams, it's dead. That scream is like a map: it tells the cat where to find the throat. 有好几首关于少男少女的初谙人事，性和生殖像是对土地献祭。我最喜欢March那首的结尾一段，可为全集作总结。
