A small, insignificant company on the edge of bankruptcy has discovered an alchemist's dream: a miraculous polymer - paint it on a vehicle, any vehicle and voila, you have the equivalent of 30 inches of steel. Once they own the patents they will steamroll Congress and the Pentagon to get the polymer into production, via a no-bid, fast-track contract.
