"Transforming the Crown: African, Asian and Caribbean Artists in Britain, 1966-1996" is an exhibition organized by the Caribbean Cultural Center/African Diaspora Institute in New York City, USA. It chronicles three decades of aesthetic production by artists of African and Asian descent in the United Kingdom. Filled with reproductions, this exhibition catalogue documents the work of artists from various generations and cultural backgrounds who have influenced the art establishment in late-20th-century Britain. The catalogue also includes biographical and bibliographical information, a chronology of three decades of British cultural and social history, and essays by scholars and critics from both the UK and the United States.
