Empie provides an overview of violence in the workplace and explores in detail victimization among mental health workers working with the mentally ill. To find data, a domain-specific victimization model was utilized. Focusing on the routine activities of mental health workers, Empie uncovers specific characteristics of this field. Data are based on qualitative interviews and surveys. In order to analyze the data, both linear and logistic regression techniques were used. The findings support Cohen and Felson's (1979) routine activity theory, which stresses how the daily activities of the victim provide opportunity for crime.
