Over the past few decades, a great many laboratories have focused on the identification of novel tumor antigens that would be potential targets for tumor diagnostics and therapeutics. In spite of important findings in the field, the urgent need for the development of early tumor diagnosis and effective anti-tumor therapies remains. This work intends to provide a relatively broad audience with a novel approach for the development of cancer diagnostics and targeted therapeutics, based on recently proved hypotheses. It will provide comprehensive coverage of the most important aspects of a selected domain of tumor immunology, namely the characteristics and potential capacity of the tumor infiltrating B lymphocytes.
