這本書寫的很全，但是很多地方寫的很簡略，直接讀不好懂。但是的確涵蓋瞭D膜的很多方嚮。

D膜的經典教材，但是年代較遠很多東西又寫的簡略，並不太喜歡，可以看看他提供的參考文獻。

Polchinski畢竟有點老，很多內容都沒有，相較之下呢，Johnson這本書包括的內容就會新一些(AdS/CFT, F-theory,etc). 對16章代數幾何入門那段印象深刻，大體上做到瞭讓物理學傢盡可能多地瞭解一些數學準備. 非微擾弦論之所以引入瞭這麼多fancy的數學(如代數幾何和錶示論),本質上還是在試探到底什麼纔是更好的UV描述. M/F-theory的UV描述未知,纔必須讓對稱性和自洽條件物盡其用
