Kate Bingaman-Burt makes her otherwise mundane purchases, well, irresistible, or at least offers something to make us feel less self-conscious about how frequently we spend to fill the void. Obsessive Consumption represents a selection of three years of daily purchase drawings. Their simple lines and captions represent items that make up a common story of so many consumers. But one can also catch a glimpse into the life of the artist from the collection, which includes wedding bands, a dog, a moving truck, handmade items from friends, Mississippi beer, Portland pizza, and lots of pens and paper to support her drawing habit.
