作者简介

RONALD COASE is Nobel Laureate in Economics. His work has had a profound impact on economics; his work clarified the theory of the firm and gave rise to the field of Law and Economics. The Coase theorem is widely studied in economics. Professor Coase is currently Clifton R. Musser Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Chicago Law School, he is also a research advisor at the Ronald Coase Institute. NING WANG is an Assistant Professor as the School of Politics and Global Studies, Arizona State University, USA.

这两年见的事情越多，越赞同两位作者对开放观念市场的呼吁。只有靠充分自由流动的信息改变人，才能有足够多的人对制度变迁形成压力。在开放社会中小团体自主坚守自己的体系是一回事（如基布兹）；不知有汉无论魏晋地认定“没办法”，“中国从来就是这样的”，继而维持旧制度，是完全不同的另一回事。

跟上一本联系起来，忽然明白why the authority was so nervous when Zhao Ziyang passed away, because Tian’anmen Square Incident was an accident after Hu Yaobang’s death. 但从政治经济的角度来看，这本跟吴晓波的《激荡三十年》联系起来看更好。

Basically，I thought most of content was written by Coase, but on the contrary, this book not so much taking about institution economics as history. I bet Wang Ning doing the most of the words. And this book is somewhat wordy, just like some Chinese author like Wu XiaoBo, describing the whole story which gives reader a sense of grandeur.
