這本書沒有完全讀完就失去瞭閱讀的興趣，倒不是因為作者寫得不好，史料事實很多，作者也有意引用兩位女主人的原話或相關人士的原話，已顯齣客觀與展示原貌，但對於對19世紀瞭解不深的讀者我來說，實在希望作者多加進一些個人的看法與評價，以增加更多的興趣。
