反思了语言和权力关系的元小说，Foe对意义的论述简直是对使用论的重述，而且令人审视意义理论领域使用论和历史因果链条内置的霸权等级关系。谁决定语词的意义和语言游戏的规则？最后一部分的“我”身份模糊，可以看做书写者的重写尝试与停滞，Susan Barton第一人称叙述背后的隐藏声音的显身。把Defoe变回Foe，拆解了看似固有的对立区分，彰显了殖民和性别体系内部的他者逻辑。

although too explicit justify for authorship... still I think it’s genius to let the character speak for the author and write a novel like an high-level essay. I must be the poet of my own story. I will never be willing to only be the muse and beg the mortal to tell the stories inside me.
