只有三篇，可疏略看出william trevor短篇作品的发展轨迹，发表于1972年的the mark-2 wife在心理悬疑与怨妇腔絮絮叨叨间摇摆，最终至于平庸，而1981年的the time of year则更为精致，处理爱与死的主题颇见乔伊斯the dead之风，而2007年的cheating at canasta则大笔如椽。这些篇目处理时间与爱情的主题，仍不如当日读到的the piano tuner's wives惊艳。
