最后三十页完全jaw dropping。我觉得比the hours还要出色。无论怎么抗争，我们是不是都无法逃离生活的平庸本质，就算短暂地脱离，最后还是只能回到原本的轨道上。

这书告诉我们计划生育是多么明智的一件事。倒是想看看这个作者拿普利策奖的那本The Hours

艺术，现实，愧疚，禁忌，死亡，须臾，中年危机……全书用闪回的手法在叙事者短暂而程式化的生活切片中散落下dark moments,结尾看来倒也暗暗地透出一线希望。叙事者一直在反复思忖着灵魂和本质，是啊，那烟雾般含混的一团，它藏着我们对美的狂恋，对自毁的偏执，和那渴求逃离定式的野望。

第一本在metro north上读完的小说。开头说columbus circle马车和汽车相撞还蛮直指人心的。每个对话回合后的心理吐槽句真是炉火纯青地好啊
