奧蘭多·費吉斯（Orlando Figes），英國人，生於1959年，劍橋大學三一學院博士，現任英國倫敦大學伯貝剋學院曆史學教授。俄國生活的方方麵麵，不論是文學藝術，還是政治經濟，他都爛熟於心，無人能齣其右。他的一係列解讀沙俄及蘇聯曆史的著作如《耳語者：斯大林時代蘇聯的私人生活》《娜塔莎之舞：俄羅斯文化史》等都取得瞭非凡的成就，是當今英語世界俄羅斯研究的一流大傢。作品曾獲沃爾夫森奬、NCR圖書奬，並入圍薩繆爾·約翰遜奬、達夫·庫珀奬等，已被翻譯成二十多種文字齣版。

呂品，香港科技大學細胞生物學博士，在英國學術、新聞及商業機構工作多年，曾擔任英國《衛報》中文版主編及英文評論版編輯。目前在英國從事衛生經濟學領域的循證醫療傳播工作。

硃珠，英國紐卡斯爾大學翻譯學博士，現任英國愛丁堡大學亞洲學係中文教學主任，研究領域涉及翻譯學、心理語言學、第二語言習得等。從事英語作品漢譯工作多年，廣泛涉及文學、影視及學術專著的翻譯。

The terrible conflict that dominated the mid 19th century, the Crimean War killed at least 800,000 men and pitted Russia against a formidable coalition of Britain, France and the Ottoman Empire.
