Illustrated with ten copper engravings by the painter and poet David Jones (1895-1974). The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a masterpiece. First published in 1929, it was received by reviewers as the best illustration of Coleridge's poem. This edition contains 28 illustrations, disclosing the biographical context of the engravings, interpreting them, and exploring the form of the poem which may have influenced the engravings and has until now eluded Coleridge scholars.
