While I was reading Orwell's attack on British left intelligentsia during WW2 I feel it is really like 陳雲 attacking 左膠 in Hong Kong, the latter of which claims their devotion to internationalism and therefore derides patriotic Hong Kong localism in face of the fascist totalitarian AND also postmodern intrusion from the PRC. Masterfully written.

THE book that reflects his political orientation and his gift to England. George Orwell is the best pamphlet writer of his generation, or maybe of all.

乔治奥威尔的时代局限…除了第一部分讲英国国民性格有点意思以外，基本上就是一本从肤浅概念出发的社会主义zz宣传小册子，一直重复地说那套资本主义危机，当权者腐朽德不配位，社会主义改革刻不容缓…可别因为张伯伦的软弱和法西斯危机就走向社会主义计划经济，后世看来这也是一条走向极权的道路……

A thorough discussion of British nationalism and politics in times of war, put down in layman's terms. Insightful and entertaining to read.
