背著這本書上班上學地到處走，這樣子背瞭很久，斷斷續續地、還是沒有算看完瞭它。印象最深刻的反而是開頭的部分：在海上昏昏沉沉地漂泊，在海關之間輾轉，簽證官的手就差一點點就能落下印章瞭——原來簽證在1940年這麼艱難。還有：登陸後，未老先衰的、美洲城市的衰敗。
评分這不是自己第一次讀tristes tropiques瞭，從大學到現在，中文版英文版加到一起也有四五遍瞭，可直到因為項目原因在Siem Reap住過一個月後，纔忽然發現應該怎樣重新讀列維。也許這份重讀與新增理解的清單上不久也會加上Said的名字吧。
