It's a neat approach, however, in the past 25 years, nothing truly significant has been achieved along this line. A well explained exposition nevertheless.

“明斯基對於心靈認知機製和功能性質的論述，粗看充滿瞭洞察力，細看也不過是一係列越來越細緻的推測罷瞭。剛拿起這本書的時候我樂觀地以為會看到一係列支持行為主義或者神經科學研究的論證，但是這些部分占全書的比率實在是太小瞭。除掉具體的新發展（概率推理等）而言，本書的過時性主要在於將人腦看成一種相互競爭的agent組成的集體這一觀點並不具有什麼變革性瞭。明斯基本人在書中展現齣的處理復雜問題的方法論也僅僅是自下而上、分而治之而已。總的來說，對於那些想找些能夠激發創造力的、關於心靈的閱讀材料的人來說，這本書還是非常不錯的，但對那些想讀點不是這麼悠閑、更具科學性的研究的人來說，就沒必要讀瞭。
