首先说明一下，我读的是河北教育出版社赵蓉恒译的那个版本。赵先生可能是个比较学究、严谨的德语译者，所译的文字谨遵西式语法的习惯，大量有板有眼的定语词句叠加在一起构成一长串的句子，随处可见的破折号、双逗号插入语，阅读起来颇费神，倒反保留了德语那夸张的严谨...

The story is incomplete, so that I don't quite comprehend the marrows of the novel. To me it's a little bit mundane. The English translation is sometimes awkward, which makes this version not very reader-friendly. Don't quite know what the original is like. The cover photo is cool
